Botox® & Other
What is Botox®?
Botox® is a simple non-surgical treatment injected into facial muscles in order to improve the look of frown and wrinkle lines, producing a smoother complexion. It has been used for over ten years and is becoming the most chosen non-surgical treatment to reverse signs of aging. The injections are safe and require no downtime.
Who should use Botox®?
Botox can be used on women and men ages 18-65.
When will I see results and how long do they last?
Within a few days you will see visible and marked improvements in your frown lines. Improvement continues for approximately 30 days and last up to 4 months.
Is Botox® treatment painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. If requested, the area can be numbed with a cold pack or anesthetic cream.
Botox® can also be used for:
- muscle hypertrophy and spasms
- eleviating symtoms of teeth grinding and reducing the size of jaw muscles
- some forms of headaches
- hyperhidrosis, and excessive sweating of armpits and hands
How does Botox® work?
Botox works by temporarily blocking nerve impulses from travelling to injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows and on the forehead. When you concentrate, squint, or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. After years of frequent contraction, those wrinkles can linger even after the muscles are at rest.
